Effective immediately, SAA has removed the three night-time departure flights from its Johannesburg-São Paulo route.
SAA originally operated 10 flights per week between Johannesburg and São Paulo – daily flights from Monday to Sunday as well as three night-time departures on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The airline is now removing the evening flights, meaning the daily flights will remain operating to the current schedule.
The new daily schedule will see the flight departing Johannesburg at 11h15 and arriving in São Paulo at 17h00, while the return flight will depart São Paulo at 18h00 and arrive in Johannesburg at 07h25 the next morning.
- Un-ticketed passengers that have not ticketed their ticket on or before March 28 will automatically be cancelled and passengers will be required to make alternative arrangements at their own cost.
- All tickets issued on or before March 28 for travel on the terminated flights have been re-accommodated on to SA222 and SA223 on the same day or closest SA-operated flight without penalty or additional charge.
- SAA is only responsible for passengers who are holding SAA ticket stock with through fares or one ticket on to their end destination. If a passenger has purchased separate tickets on another carrier, SAA is not responsible for these tickets.
In October last year, Latam launched three weekly flights between Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport and São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil. The flight departs São Paulo at 23h55 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and arrives in Johannesburg at 14h10 the next day. The return flight departs on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays at 23h10, and arrives in São Paulo at 04h45 the following day.
