Note from Ambassador
Dear Reader
We have come to the end of a fruitful year and as we sit and take stock of our
achievements and challenges in the last 6 months of 2015, I have to thank you as
stakeholders, dear readers, and friends of South Africa for your unwavering support.
I write this letter with a bittersweet heaviness as I take this opportunity to bid a heart-
felt farewell to two of the Embassy’s truest gems. Minister Plenipotentiary Delina de
Villiers-Steenkamp and Counsellor Political Mr Zakhele Mnisi have come to the end
of their tour of duty. As diplomats, we are contracted to represent our country for a
Ambassador given period and have to leave again. The memory we leave behind is our dedica-

tion to our country and to forward its foreign policy. For this, I would like to thank you
both in having supported me and the Embassy in attaining our vision and wish you well in your future en-
deavours.
For whatever may lay ahead in 2016, the Embassy of South Africa would like to wish you all a blessed fes-
tive season and warm New Year’s Greetings.

Cari lettori e care lettrici,
Siamo ormai giunti alla fine di un anno molto proficuo e facendo l’inventario dei risultati e delle sfide di que-
sti ultimi sei mesi del 2015, mi sento in dovere di ringraziare voi tutti che ci seguite, cari lettori e amici del
Sudafrica, per il vostro incrollabile sostegno.
Scrivo questo messaggio gravata da un lieve senso di agrodolce, in quanto mi si offre l'occasione per salu-
tare con affetto due tra le più autentiche perle dell’Ambasciata, il Ministro Plenipotenziario Delina de Villiers
-Steenkamp e il Consigliere politico Zakhele Mnisi, giunti alla fine del loro incarico. Come diplomatici, per
contratto siamo chiamati a rappresentare il nostro paese per un determinato arco temporale e quindi sono
di nuovo sul piede di partenza. La memoria che ci lasciamo alle spalle è la dedizione al nostro paese e alla
sua politica estera. Per questo, mentre vi ringrazio entrambi per avere aiutato me e l'Ambasciata a rag-
giungere i nostri obiettivi, vi auguro ogni successo nei vostri futuri impegni.
Qualunque cosa possa averci riservato il 2016, l'Ambasciata del Sudafrica desidera augurare a voi tutti
ogni bene per le prossime festività e un felice e prospero Anno Nuovo.
