South Africa’s 2019 National Elections

Instructions for use

Dear Voter

As a registered voter, before you can cast your vote in South Africa’s 2019 National Elections there is one more thing you need to do: you must complete and submit a VEC-10 application which notifies us of your intention to vote abroad and at which South African mission you will be voting.

The form is available online at https://www.elections.org.za/IECOnline/Notify-the-IEC-of-my-intention-to-vote-abroad-Step-1

The deadline for the submission of this application is 13 March 2019 at midnight (UTC+02:00). If you do not complete the form and submit it by this date you will unfortunately be unable to cast your ballot overseas.

A reminder that voting day abroad is on 27 April 2019 at all South African embassies, high commissions and consulates-general. Find your nearest one at www.dirco.gov.za/webmissions/index.html. Please note that 27 April is the only available date for voting abroad and no exceptions can be made.

To check if you are registered to vote visit the My Voter Registration Details page at www.elections.org.za/content/For-voters/My-voter-registration-details/ on the Electoral Commission’s website and submit your ID number, or visit www.elections.org.za/MyIEC to view your detailed registration information.

ind more information on voting abroad on the Electoral Commission’s website at http://www.elections.org.za/content/For-Voters/Voting-abroad/. Please note that once you’ve submitted your VEC-10 application, your address field will reflect the mission at which you have indicated you will be voting at on 27 April 2019.

Should you have any queries you can contact the IEC Call Centre on +27 10 449-5172 (Call Centre is open Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm South African time) or email info@elections.org.za.

 Kind regards

 Electoral Commission of South Africa
