South African Film and Television annual awards ceremony

The South African National Film and Video Foundation hosted a glittering awards ceremony on
18 March 2017 in honour of South African film and TV stars. The 11th annual South African Film
and Television Awards (Saftas) ceremony was hosted at the well-known Sun City resort. The
theme for the awards ceremony was “South Africa has got it, let's celebrate it”. The ceremony
was hosted by South African celebrity, Ms Nambitha Mpumlwana. There are 258 nominees in
89 categories of awards, including Best Film Actor/Actress, Best TV Soap/Telenovela, Best Ac-
tor/Actress in a TV series, Most Popular TV Soap, Best Achievement in Directing, Best Talk
