Visit by Eastern Cape Provincial Portfolio

Comittee on Roads and Public Works

Ms Mlombile-Cingo, the Chairperson of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature Portfolio Com-

mittee on Roads and Public Works, and her delegation conducted a successful visit to Bari, in

the Region of Puglia, from 22 to 27 May 2017. The delegation, which was on a study tour to

learn from the experience and best practices of Italy in terms of the management and develop-

ment of infrastructure, met with various officials responsible for Transport, Public Works, Train-

ing, Labour and Works as well as academics from the University of Bari. As a result of the fruit-

ful discussions that were held, the delegation has identified several areas for possible follow-up

action. The visit also provided an opportunity for the Embassy to strengthen relations with rele-

vant stakeholders in the Puglia Region.
