MAIS fundraising event

On the evening of 24 May 2017, Ambassador Nomatemba Tambo hosted a fundraising event in

the Official Residence, in honour of MAIS Onlus. This year’s fundraiser marked its fifth edition,

in support of the worthy projects that benefit disadvantaged youth in South Africa, which are

supported and administered by this Italian NGO.

In addition to the beautiful setting, the success of the evening was enhanced by the enthusiasm

of the many participants, who through their generous donations, have made it possible to reno-

vate the floor of the St Christopher's Family Home in Yeoville. South African gourmet delicacies

were prepared by Chef Sacha Kingston, with entertainment being provided by the "Milton Kwa-

mi and Group" band.

The moving remarks by Ms Jackie Stevenson, Director of the Family Home, and Mr Portia

Nhlabathi, a former MAIS Onlus student and now a successful manager in the private sector,

bore poignant testimony to the valuable work that MAIS Onlus is doing around the world.

A raffle of various prizes donated by many sponsors concluded the evening, once again con-

firming the fruitful col-
