During the next six months, we will host a series of webinars to put the South African business community

in direct contact with the business communities in Italy, Malta, San Marino and Albania. Each webinar will

be sector focused. During our first webinar Mr. Ravi Nair, General Manager of Isando Operations of Trans-

net Freight Rail (Pty) Ltd., put Euro 20 billion worth of opportunities available pertaining to infrastructure de-

velopment in South Africa and Africa. . I trust that you will find the webinars interesting and a forum to pro-

Finally, President Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of the Republic of South Africa, has announced that an

investor conference targeting USD 100 billion will be hosted in October 2018 in South Africa. Leaders of

Bilateral Relations

The Mission enjoys cordial relations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various Ministries and key institu-

tions in Italy.

Invitations to South Africa to participate in events such as the Blue Sea Land Expo, from 4-7 October 2018,

Italy-Africa Ministerial, on 25 October 2018, and a Conference on “A world Without Death Penalty”, from 28-

29 November 2018, have been received and transmitted to the relevant South African Ministries to ensure

high-level participation.

The Mission facilitated the visit to Italy by the former President of the Republic of South Africa, H.E Kgalema

Motlanthe from 9-16 August 2018. The Former President received the freedom of the town of Fallo, in the

Region of Abruzzo.
