On the doorstep of the Zulu Kingdom is an ocean playground second to none. Endless golden beaches
known as the golden mile are ideal for soaking up, surfing, fishing from the rocks, and snorkelling in rock
pools or scuba diving
The region’s history is significant as it encom-
passes the meeting of different cultures, their reac-
tion and struggle for survival. Today the Zulu King-
dom is a distinctive mix of cultures embodying Afri-
ca, the East and the West, reflected in language,
art and cuisine. Ubuntu is a Zulu term which best
describes the warm welcome and boundless hospi-
tality extended to visitors to the Zulu Kingdom.
The 332 000ha iSimangaliso Wetland Park com-
prises of eight interdepended ecosystems and boundless diversity of flora and fauna. Formerly known as
the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park, iSimangaliso is a prime destination for those looking for a combination
of marine splendour and pristine beaches.
The uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park has outstand-
ing natural beauty, Africa's highest mountain rang-
es and the largest and most concentrated series of
rock art paintings in Africa – making it a World Her-
itage site of both natural and cultural significance.
