Participation by invited Italian Think Tanks and representatives of several Universities in Rome further en-

hanced the outcomes of the Conference. In addition, students were afforded an opportunity to engage the

speakers on recent financial and economic developments in both Italy and South Africa.

The Conference was preceded by a closed workshop which provided a platform for open and frank discus-

sions between the high-level speakers and participants in the Conference.
