African Wine tasting event: Collaboration between the Embassies of
South Africa and Algeria
The South African Embassy invited African countries that produce wine to take part in an African Wine Tast-
ing, with the purpose of showcasing the fine wines from our continent.
The Embassies of South Africa and Algeria participated in the event and served a wide selection of fine
wines, including some of our best Rosé’, Pinotage and Shiraz varietals.
Among the wine enthusiasts who attended were former Prime Minister and wine producer; Mr. Massimo
D’Alema, Ambassador Abdelhamid Senouci, the Italian Champagne importer, Mr. Ricardo Siviero, the South
African Wine Importer, Ms. Elisabetta Sirianni, the South African Wine Distributor, Mr. Giuseppe Sorgini,
wine journalist, Mr. Konrad van Halewyn, the Editor of Italian Insider Newspaper and many more. Typical
cuisine from Algeria and South Africa, prepared by the Chefs from both Embassies, was served. In all, it
was a great evening and the guests voiced their appreciation for the high quality of the wines on offer.
