Visit to Italy by the Executive Mayor of the

metro of Ekurhuleni, Cllr Mzwandile Masina

The Executive Mayor of the Metro of Ekurhuleni, Cllr Mzwandile Masina, and his delegation visited Italy to

attend a Conference dedicated to “Cities of Africa” that was hosted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

and International Cooperation on 15 November 2017. The Executive Mayor and delegation met with Am-

bassador Tambo and Embassy officials and provided a briefing on the planned OR Tambo Centenary cele-

brations, as well as an update regarding the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement signed in Octo-

ber 2016 with Reggio Emilia for collaboration in areas such as agriculture, education and sport. Further-

more, the Executive Mayor attended a meeting with the Aerospace Districts of the Lazio Region officials,

and discussed possible areas of collaboration on manufacturing refurbishment, aircraft manufacturing, avia-

tion academy, innovation hub as well as training and development on free data extraction.
