AMBASCIATA DEL SUDAFRICA A ROMA: NOTIZIARIO
RAI PRESENT CARTOONS ON THE BAY 7-9 APRIL 2016 IN VENICE, ITALY
South Africa was honoured with a Pucinella Award at the 20thAnniversary of Car-
toons on the Bay, in Venice from 7-9 April 2016.
Established in 1996, Cartoons on the Bay is a subsidiary of Radiotelevisione Italia
S.P.A (RAI) – which also acts as its main sponsor. It is the only international cross-
media animation festival to take place in Italy.
Several South African animators were invited to the Festival to showcase the level of
work produced in South Africa. These animators participated in a special panel dis-
cussion highlighting the nature of South Africa’s animation industry.

Il Sudafrica è stato onorato con un Pulcinella Award al festival inter-
nazionale dell’animazione cross-mediale e della Tv dei ragazzi -
Cartoons on the Bay, che si è svolto a Venezia dal 7 al 9 aprile
2016.
Cartoons of the Bay è una “costola” di Radiotelevisione Italia S.P.A
(RAI), che svolge anche la funzione di sponsor principale, giunto
quest’anno a festeggiare il 20mo anniversario di festival internazio-
nale unico nel suo genere in Italia.
Per mostrare al pubblico il livello del lavoro prodotto in Sudafrica, quest’anno sono stati invitati diversi ani-
matori sudafricani, che hanno partecipato ad una speciale tavola rotonda sulle caratteristiche dell’industria
dell’animazione nel paese africano.
